I don't know why every CPC candidate does the same thing. Run as a conservative, then as soon as they get the big seat, turn into a Red Tory and attempt to be a No Name Brand Liberal, crushing their election chances. Pierre blew a 20 point lead by pandering to diaspora in old timey 3rd world garb, pulling an amazing copy of the 2014 Trudeau campaign.
Then, (see 2014 campaign) got in front of the largest Canadian Flag he could find and told Canadians, with a straight face, that Canadians are the people who go to work, pay taxes, and leave their 3rd world feuds at home. At least calling Canada a post-national state would be a catchy slogan.
And some blame Jenny Blige, his single, spinster aged ex girlfriend for taking his campaign, but he hired her, he didn't fire her, and I couldn't help but notice the man with a new attractive wife and family hiring a jilted ex to help him would crash out as it did. This part is speculation though, but I've seen exes do worse.
I feel like I'm not alone in thinking "I wish her were as evil as the LPC keeps telling me he is."
This whole idea of blaming his advisors for his loss. Wise people don’t follow bad advice. Stupid people follow bad advice. If Pierre followed bad advice, Pierre has proven he’s not as wise as he may try to let on. He took bad advice, like stupid people do. Lots of it, at that.
And yes, it seems most CPC MP’s are conservative by declaration, not by action.
Pierre panders to whatever he thinks will make him look good/likeable. He stands for nothing on pure conviction alone.
Frankly, the image makeover should have been a red flag to every conservative. That was wholly a liberal-esque move. I mean c’mon. Maybe people will like me more if I try to look more like Trudeau!?
I too noticed Pierre’s campaign was very much styled on Trudeau’s first PM run.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery and Pierre has imitated JT many times over the last 2-years and with his election campaign.
Pierre motivation may be more due to jealousy than selfless leadership.
